Jowbeam Bike Light Review

Manual kick scooters typically don’t come with a light, so we purchased one for the kids scooters. Below is my real life Jowbeam Bike Light review.

Problem

We sometimes take the kids out at dusk when there is still some light. So, we felt it would be a good idea for the kids scooters to have lights, whether they are on their manual kick scooters day or night. My electric kick scooter has both front and back lights.

Bike light choice and specifications

We did some research online for bike lights. We found the Jowbeam Bike Light and noticed that it had a much brighter light (800 lumens) as compared to other bike lights in the same price range (100-300 lumens). And, other bike lights typically didn’t have integrated electronic horns like the Jowbeam Bike Light.

Specifications:

  • USB rechargeable front and back lights
  • Battery level indicator
  • Front light is 800 lumens
  • Front light has 125° light angle, 500 ft visibility, 5 lighting modes( Hight-Medium-Low-Flashlight-SOS )
  • Bike tail light has 220°and 700 ft visibility, also 3 lighting modes(Normal-High Flashing-Low Flashing)
  • Horn can emit a warning sound up to 120 dB and there are 6 sound modes
  • Front light has IP65 waterproof
  • Easy to install and no tools are required

My thoughts on the bike light

The Jowbeam Bike Light seemed to be priced competitively. It was easy to install/use and required no tools for installation. The light is very bright, much brighter than my electric scooter’s built in headlight. And, the electronic integrated bike horn is very loud, much louder than the tiny manual bike bell on my electric scooter. I also like the battery level indicator, see picture below.

Note, we didn’t use the tail light because there was nothing to strap it too at the back of the scooters, but we may strap them to their helmets or pin to their backs.

Also, note in the picture above that the bike light is strapped to the handle bar post instead to the handle bar. I had to do this because my kids manual kick scooter handle bars were too skinny so the bike lights were not secure on the handle bars.

I would still recommend this bike light without reservation because of the low price, high lumen rating and the very loud electronic horn. Also, I like that the bike lights contain rechargeable batteries, saves money on buying batteries. Hope you found this Jowbeam Bike Light Review helpful, happy scootering.
